Examples of What Not to Do

One of the most common errors is made when using a white logo on a dark background. This is an example of an incorrectly reversed logo. Also note that background elements, such as photographs or unusual background colors should never be visible through the shield element of the logo.
This is the correct way to reverse a logo out of a dark background. The tower should appear darker than the shield.
Never use unofficial colors, and do not allow background colors to show through the white areas of the official full-color logo. Photographs and images should also not show through the logo, even when using the one-color version..
Do not squeeze or stretch the logo. Always scale it proportionally.
Never overprint something on top of the logo, and do not use the logo as a background pattern.
Never alter the wordmark or any visual elements, and do not change the font of the wordmark or accompanying names of colleges or divisions.
Never place the logo or wordmark at an angle.
The minimum recommended size for the standard logo is 1" in height. The minimum recommended size for the horizontal logo treatment is 1/2" in height.
